Eostre/Easter

A small tidbit. (the question that just popped into my mind is where does the word tidbit come from? Inquiring minds want to know but I digress.)

Easter is named for the goddess of spring Eostre, which many pagan cultures held/hold festivals for. Fertility is central to the theme so hares and eggs played symbolic parts.

Happy Spring Everyone!

It IS a happy spring here today! Beautiful sun all day, geese flying overhead. Perfect!

Thank you for this. I don't know why some people think all those bunnies and eggs have anything to do with Jesus. Silly people. I celebrated Spring, not the Christian version of Easter.
