How many lesbians does it take to change a tire?

I've been pretty busy lately. Em and I have been working on a new and improved women's self defense workshop and just ran our first group through it today. It was a very powerful and satisfying experience.

Back to my lead in question... I was promoting the workshop through my old boot camp. I went to pick up some ad cards from the owner, Shannon, at the end of her class. She was there with a dozen or so women and I noticed a group of them standing around a minivan. They were fixing to change a tire. At least three of them looked like fellow lesbians. I went over to watch. They were taking turns trying to unscrew the lug nuts but they couldn't get them to budge. Shannon was like "let me handle this." She pulled up as hard as she could putting everything she had into it but it was no good. They looked at it like there is no way we, of all people, should have to ask for help. I was waiting for one of them to figure out the obvious thing to do.
When I told em this story she figured it out right away. Rox probably has it by now!

I casually said "Hey turn the lug wrench over so you pushing DOWN not pulling up and just step down on it with your foot" Boom they had it loose in about three seconds and the rest of the nuts off in no time. Shannon meanwhile got her camera and started taking pictures of the operation. Then she got one of her students to take pictures of her holding the released tire and rim over her head a few times. She sets it back down in the parking lot and I said "wow, you could have just set that down in the back of the van," the door of which was completely open. They all thought that was funny and she picked up the tire again and set it in.

So I'm guessing there's not a firm answer to the lead in question. One of them just has to notice the obvious and Friday that got to be me. There has been plenty of other times when I've totally missed the obvious so this not a slam of anyone but it was fun to be holding the answer for a bit while they floundered around.

I'm almost embarrassed to say this but I have never changed a tire. Or changed the oil. I think that lacking of knowledge has saved our marriage more than once. :o)
